Three cracking bands announced to play at one of the best showpieces for upcoming Irish talent…

JOE always loves hearing new Irish talent emerge and the First Music Contact tour has been a vital step for some of our favourite bands over the years; And So I Watch You From Afar, Le Galaxie and We Cut Corners.

Every November, in association with The Arts Council, some of Ireland’s best new talent travel all around the country but crucially, as well as that, local bands are also given opening slots from each featured county.

The first three acts to play the FMC Tour are absolutely class.

Sleep Thieves were one of our favourite acts at Electric Picnic, Fight Like Apes are probably the the most energetic and infectious live band in the country, and if you haven’t seen the two lads from Kid Karate perform yet, then you’re in for a treat.

The three bands will play six dates in six different cities this November, gigging in Limerick, Galway, Cork, Dundalk, Dublin and one further venue that is set to be announced through a poll on www.gigstarter.com

The dates for this years tour are:

Nov 6th – Dolan’s, Limerick
Nov 7th – Roisin Dubh, Galway
Nov 8th – Half Moon, Cork
Nov 13th – Spirit Store, Dundalk
Nov 14th – TBA via Gigstarter
Nov 15th – Workman’s Club, Dublin

Things will get loud.
