Fontaines D.C.'s debut album Dogrel is among the 12 albums nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize award, which goes to the record of 2019.
Previous nominees Stormzy and Jorja Smith will be among the judges of the award, along with DJ Annie Mac.
Other records nominated for the award include Psychodrama by Dave and Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1 by Foals.
The Mercury Prize describes itself as an award that “promotes the best of UK music and the artists who produce it”, but Irish acts are also eligible.
Over 200 albums were submitted for consideration, and the winner will be announced in September.
A perhaps surprise omission is Lewis Capaldi's debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.
We're sure Noel Gallagher will be chuffed.
