Garth Brooks’ Dublin shows could be his last ever stadium gigs

The country music star says his latest stadium tour will be his last.

Garth Brooks is scheduled to wrap up his current stadium tour with five shows in Dublin’s Croke Park in September, which could wind up being his last ever stadium gigs.

Speaking to news outlet WTHR ahead of concerts in Nashville this weekend, the country music star said his latest stadium tour will be his last, citing the pandemic and the weather for the move.

“You put a stadium together – here comes the pandemic, here comes the weather,” he explained.

“It’s all the things you never had to worry about when you got to play indoor, right?

“That’s the only reason. It just seems like for the band and the crew, I’m just going to say – it’s too much.

“They’re not complaining whatsoever. They work hard.

“For me, watching them do all this, I would much rather have a roof over my head.”

As for what would follow his stadium tour, Brooks said he would love to play in much smaller venues.

“I’d love to go to dive bars. 75 of ’em. Let’s line ’em up, let’s go,” he stated.

“Those are the most fun you can have that’s somewhat legal.”

Brooks will perform five nights at Croke Park between 9 – 17 September, 2022.

The country music star’s Dublin shows come much-anticipated following the infamous “five or none” debacle in 2014.
