Garth Brooks absolutely loved watching Aidan O'Shea and the Mayo panel belting out his song

"Aidan, dude, you need to be singing for a living."

After Mayo's elimination from the All-Ireland at the hands of Kildare, there hasn't been much for their supporters to sing about but as we've frequently seen with the Westerners, their resolve and ability to bounce back is second to none.

While the popular opinion seems to be that some of the current Mayo panel are reaching the end of their cycle, there's no doubt that the Yew County will have better days ahead as their eternal bid for Sam continues.

Despite narrowly missing out in the last two All-Ireland finals, Mayo supporters have been treated to some memorable days and even after the defeat to Kildare, it was great to see that the Mayo panel are as united in defeat as they are in victory.

A few weeks ago, a clip of their panel singing went viral as the squad were belting out The River by Garth Brooks in Matt Molloy's in Westport.

Led by Aidan O'Shea giving it absolute socks on lead vocals, you can see Cillian O'Connor, Jason Doherty, Donie Vaughan and co doing their very best on backing vocals.

Well, to celebrate International Friendship Day, Brooks sat down to watch the footage of the Mayo lads in action and he couldn't help but comment on how "awesome" their singalong is.

After seeing O'Shea's committed performance, Brooks said: "I love this guy (O'Shea)! Oh, he did the key change too?! Nice! Aidan, dude, you need to be singing for a living. That's great! I love it."

After that remark, we're expecting the image of Garth Brooks holding a 'Mayo for Sam - 2019' sign to appear any day now.

Take a look at this footage because the important part starts at the very start of the video.

Great stuff.

Would you believe, O'Shea has even responded to the footage. Aidan and Garth, best pals.
