A concert dedicated to The World Of Hans Zimmer is coming to Dublin in 2019

Rory Cashin

19 in 90

Featuring music from The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, The Lion King, Gladiator and a lot more.

Composer Hans Zimmer has been nominated for Best Original Score at the Oscars ELEVEN TIMES in his career so far – Rain Man, The Preacher’s Wife, As Good As It Gets, The Prince Of Egypt, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, Sherlock Holmes, Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk – but he has only once, for The Lion King back in 1995.

His music has become fan favourites for those who enjoy listening to movie-music (which is a more and more common occurrence thanks to Spotify), so fans of his, and fans of great movie soundtracks in general, will be happy to know that a new concert – titled The World Of Hans Zimmer – is coming to Dublin in 2019.

Other movies that Zimmer has provided the score for include Blade Runner 2049, Wonder Woman, 12 Years A Slave, Man Of Steel, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Kung Fu Panda, and then there was also that incredible music he brought to the Blue Planet documentary series.

Zimmer has curated the show himself and it will be conducted by Gavin Greenaway and will star Lisa Gerrard.

The show will take place at the 3Arena on Monday 25 March, with tickets starting from €46 including booking and facility fees.

They go on sale Friday 19 October at 9am from Ticketmaster.

In the meantime, let us enjoy one of his greatest pieces of work to date.
