Forget the rugby on show, the mere presence of a certain steward – with a resemblance to Ed Sheeran – appears to have been one of the highlights of the season for fans of school rugby in Munster.

The following video, recorded a couple of weeks back at the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup final, shows fans serenading the steward with one of Sheeran’s songs.

The video was posted by the Munster Haka Schools Facebook page, who told JOE that ‘Ed’ has been a fan favourite throughout the season.

‘This video sums up the Munster love affair for the steward best. This rendition was just one of many songs by Sheeran sang at games whenever the steward was on the scene.’

Great stuff.

After the final initially finished in a 16-16 draw, the final was replayed on Wednesday with Crescent College Comprehensive claiming the title with a 17-7  win over Christian Brothers Collegeat Thomond Park Stadium.
