Last night the RTE Choice Music Awards took place last night in Vicar Street, and the Limerick/Shannon based hip-hop trio Rusangano Family took home the top prize.
Their album Let The Dead Bury The Dead was presented with the €10,000 prize by Snow Patrol's Jonny Quinn, after nine of the ten nominees performed, with only James Vincent McMorrow absent from the proceedings.
The other nominees were All Tvvins, Bantum, Wallis Bird, The Divine Comedy, Lisa Hannigan, Katie Kim, Overhead The Albatross and We Cut Corners.

Elswhere on the night, Athy duo Picture This took home the Song Of The Year award for their single Take My Hand, beating out Niall Horan, James Vincent McMorrow, The Coronas and Walking On Cars for the prize. The guys from Picture This were not on hand to collect the award though, as they're in Nashville right now recording their debut album.
