HMV on Grafton Street will host five special gigs with Irish artists every Friday during August

Breakingtunes Breaking Stage is back for the month of August, showcasing the very best of new Irish talent on a weekly stage in HMV’s two flagship stores in Grafton Street and Belfast.

The Breakingtunes Breakingstage line-up for August is an eclectic mix of some of the best Irish artists on the scene right now. All five acts will play in HMV on Grafton Street every Friday at 1pm throughout the month. Here’s a quick look at who you can check out.

Cormac O’Caoimh kicks off the month as he take to the stage on August 1. Cormac is a singer-soongwriter from Cork who has recently release his third solo album ‘A New Season For Love’. Cormac’s music has attracted admiration from other well known musicians such as Damien Rice, Declan O’Rourke and Fiachna O’Braonain.

Following that, Codai, who is an Athlone DJ releases his debut EP ‘Calipso’ on his in-store day on August 8, Dublin indie-pop group Groom are in the store on August 15.

I Have A Tribe released his debut EP and spent a busy year touring with the likes of Anna Calvi and Villagers, he plays August 22 and Cork-based Electric Rock trio Toy Soldier will finish the August line-up on August 29.

There are also gigs in HMV in Belfast on Saturdays at 1pm, In An Instant (August 2), Dani (August 9), Team RKT (August 16), Silences (August 23) and The Rising (August 30).
