Hozier announces run of intimate live rehearsal shows in Dublin this year

Andrew Byrne is back.

Internationally acclaimed and platinum-selling artist Hozier announced on Monday that he will play a special run of intimate live rehearsal shows at The Academy, Dublin this September.

Fans, in recent weeks, have been crying out for new music by the Wicklow native, who has been keeping under the radar since his Live In America EP was released back in 2015.

His eponymous first album brought Byrne worldwide fame, as his first single ‘Take Me To Church’ climbed to the top of charts internationally.

Tickets for his series of intimate gigs go on sale at 9am on Friday 17 August on the musician’s website at the price of €30. These will be limited to two per person.

All proceeds from the shows will go to three charities close to Hozier’s heart; Safe Ireland, One In Four and the Peter McVerry Trust.

Dates for the show are as follows:

  • Monday, 3 September
  • Wednesday, 5 September
  • Friday, 7 September

All gigs will be held at The Academy, 57 Abbey Street Middle, North City, Dublin 1.

Following these Dublin shows, the Grammy nominee will then play London’s Koko on Tuesday, 11 September, in aid of War Child.

It’s also been revealed that Byrne will announce further Ireland, UK & European dates on 17 September, as well as new music which will soon follow.
