Hozier’s performance on Saturday Night Live last weekend (check it out here) has done the trick as the Wicklow man’s album has jumped to number two in the US Billboard 200 Chart on the back of the appearance.
The self-titled album sold an amazing 57,859 copies in its first week which makes it the second highest charting debut album of the year so far. Country singer Jason Aldrean is in top spot but we’re pretty optimistic that Hozier can overtake him.
The album has also done outrageously well across the globe as it entered the Canadian Album Chart at two, Belgian Album Chart at three and UK Album Chart at five. It also secured Top 15 chart positions in Denmark, Holland, and Germany.
The guy is unstoppable at the moment and looks set for worldwide acclaim. What a talent…
