The Irish heats for Junior Eurovision 2020 will take place in March and applications for entry are now open for youngsters who want to apply.

If you’re between nine and 14, then you have a chance to enter this year’s competition.

The winner will travel to Europe eight days in advance to prepare for the event; from the opening ceremony, to rehearsals on the big stage and culminating in the show itself.

The winning singer, or singers, will represent Ireland at the televised event at an yet unnamed location later this year.

Presented by Eoghan McDermott, the show will broadcast on TG4 this Autumn

“I loved every minute of it,” said Anna Kearney, 2019 Junior Eurovision representative.

“We were picked up by limousine and brought to the hotel, where all the countries stayed. It was an amazing atmosphere. I got to perform on a stage bigger than I had ever dreamt of. It it is something I will never forget.

The Irish heats will be filmed in RTÉ studios this March and will be televised on TG4. Closing date for applications is 14 February.
