After a disappointing 2020, Lesley Roy is back with a bang.

Lesley Roy’s Eurovision hopes were dashed with the cancellation of last year’s show, but the Dubliner has bounced back from that heartache with a brand new tune for this year’s competition.

With her new song ‘Maps’, she hopes to represent Ireland in “whatever version” of the song contest that goes ahead in May.

‘Maps’, which was written specifically for this competition, was released on Friday morning, and if you ask us, is a bit of a banger.

Well, what do you reckon? Are we going to take home the gold?

Roy will appear on tonight’s episode of The Late Late Show to perform the tune, alongside some Eurovision royalty, with former winners Linda Martin, Niamh Kavanagh, Charlie McGettigan, and Paul Harrington in studio for some musical performances.

Speaking about the song, Lesley Roy said: “I’m thrilled to see through this project and represent Ireland at Eurovision 2021 with Maps. I’m so happy with the song and so passionate about it and Eurovision. I’m working each day towards representing Ireland in whatever version of Eurovision goes ahead in May.

“It’s a true honour and I want to have the best time I possibly can on the stage for Ireland.

“This has been a year in the making and I’m thrilled to finally get it out there for everyone to hear. ‘Maps’ was specifically written for Eurovision. It’s heartfelt, it’s uplifting, and I hope people love it.”
