RTÉ have officially announced the song that will represent Ireland at the Eurovision song contest in Kyiv, Ukraine, later this year. The song, a ballad called ‘Dying to Try’ will be performed by singer and musician Brendan Murray, formerly of the boyband Hometown and originally from Tuam in Galway. The song was co-written by Swedish song writer Jörgen Elofsson and British song writer James Newman and was chosen from over 320 entries by a judging panel of six industry professionals.
