Ireland’s favourite summer festival has been revealed

JOE

Despite the risk of terrible weather, we Irish love our outdoor gigs.

In a recent survey by JOE.ie, you voted for your favourite Irish summer festival.

It might not come as surprise to see that Electric Picnic came out on top, with four in 10 people choosing the weekend in Stradbally.

This years line up features LCD Soundsystem, Lana Del Rey and The Chemical Brothers.

Longitude came in second with 16% of people choosing it as their favourite summer festival, followed by Sea Sessions at 12%.

Just under 1 in 10 said that Cork’s biggest festival Indiependence was their favourite and Body & Soul came closely behind with 8%.

Other respondents voted for Castlepalooza and Vantastival but over 40% of people chose none of the above and instead went with the ‘Other’ option.

Over a quarter of people said that they were definitely going to a festival this summer, however, over 40% said that weren’t, which might have something to do with the cost of festivals.

Two out of three people said that they will be spending between €200 and €300 on their festival including food, drink and camping and 23% of people said that they would spend €500.
