Paul Moore

This incident occurred at 9.30pm while the couple were out on a first date.

An Irishman has died after being stabbed to death while having dinner with his girlfriend at a restaurant in Sydney.

Numerous Australian news outlets have reported that Keith Collins, originally from Dublin but a resident in New South Wales for the last number of years, was enjoying a date with his new girlfriend Jovi Pilapil before a man, believed to be Pilapil’s ex-husband Alexander Villaluna, started attacking them at the Korean restaurant Kangnam BBQ in Hornsby Westfield.

Police have said that Ms Pilapil had taken a restraining order out against her ex-partner just last month.

Mr Collins died at the scene while Ms Pilapil suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and arms. She’s currently in a stable condition at the Royal North Shore Hospital.

9News are reporting that Villaluna used a glass bottle in this brutal attack. “The guy jumped over the counter and stabbed him with a glass bottle. He got two in the neck and two in the stomach and he like dropped,” a witness told 9News.

Mr Villaluna has been charged with murder and attempted murder. He was refused bail in local court today.

Here’s more eyewitness details surrounding the incident.
