His sons confirmed his passing in a statement
Tito Jackson, one of the original members of The Jackson 5 and brother of the late Michael Jackson, has died.
His death was confirmed by his three sons Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson in a statement on Instagram.
They wrote: “We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their wellbeing.”
They continued: “He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time”‘ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you Pops.”
Tito was an original member of The Jackson 5 along with brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael, who died in 2009.
The brothers were five of 10 siblings, also including Janet and LaToya Jackson.
The Jackson 5 were one of the biggest acts of the 1970s, and had hits with songs such as ABC, I Want You Back and I’ll Be There.
Tito had recently been in Munich ahead of a performance the group were due to give, the BBC reports.
In 1997, Tito was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
