The three day festival in Mitchelstown is almost here…

The Independence Music and Arts Festival takes place this Bank Holiday Weekend at Deer Farm in Mitchelstown. If you’re heading along, you are in for three days and nights of amazing music so go and enjoy it.

JOE is a big fan of the Indiependence line-up this year but we’ve decided to put together a list of five acts you need to catch over the weekend, see you at the very front…

Tom Odell

The English singer-songwriter seems like an obvious choice because he’s headlining the main stage on Friday night but we really don’t want you to miss him. His debut album ‘Long Way Down’ is out just over a year now and his music and lyrics storm together to create something very special.

Dan Croll

Dan Croll is a 24-year old who knows how to make really good indie-electro-pop music and his debut album ‘Sweet Disarray’ which dropped earlier this year is living proof. He could be the big surprise of your weekend so be sure and catch him on Friday.

Temper-Mental MissElayneous

Irish rap music is growing and growing and one of the shining lights is Temper-Mental MissElayneous. We’ve seen her a few times before and it’s always a quality show so make sure to check her out on Saturday.

Delorentos

The band are nearing their 10 year anniversary and they are sounding as great as ever. You could argue they are up there with any band in the country but there’s no argument that they are one of the best live acts. It’s great to see them get a main stage slot on Saturday evening, don’t miss them…

Darling

The Dublin duo, Gary Harding and James McGuire, known as Darling got together in 2013 and are one of the most exciting acts in the country. If you like anthemic rock music, you’ll love these guys and we’re pretty sure you’ll be singing along with them if you check them out on Sunday.

Those five acts are the ones we will definitely be going to see over the weekend but here’s the entire line-up for you, get planning…
