Breezy dance-pop with a personal twist.
Having emerged via a Mark McCabe collaboration last summer, Dublin hopeful Aimée is busy taking steps to carve out her own path.
As such, she’s back with another dancefloor-friendly slice of power pop, one that speaks to personal struggles as it looks to find the light.
“Anxiety is something I have been dealing with since I was seven years old,” says Aimée about second single ‘Break Me’.
“For a very long time it controlled my life. For me I took back the control when I stopped trying to fight it, and stopped trying to change who I am.”
“Although I still deal with this every single day, and I probably will for the rest of my life, I regained my strength by accepting this is who I am and knowing I am strong enough to get through it. I know nothing is going to break me.”
Just announced alongside the track’s release, Aimée will play her debut headline Dublin show Upstairs at Whelan’s on Sunday 24 November.
Tickets priced €12.50 are available now via Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
