JOE’s Song Of The Day #817 – Milk. ‘Temperature’

Dave Hanratty

JOE Song Of The Day Milk

An ’80s-tinged blast of pure guitar pop.

There’s more than a hint of The 1975 to Dublin outfit Milk., which is fine seeing as Matty Healy and his band of merry men released one of the best albums of last year.

’80s-tinged indie-pop with a bruised beating heart is in right now, and Mark McKenna – who you might recognise from Sing Street – Conor Gorman, Morgan Wilson and Conor King are tapping into those frequencies with aplomb.

Having impressed with debut single ‘Drama Queen’ in February, the foursome return with ‘Temperature’, a fittingly-titled exercise for the recent sweltering conditions we’ve all been enjoying / suffering through.

Thematically, the song itself details a close enough balancing act, too.

“‘Temperature’ is about the changes felt between two people, whether in situations of love or lust,” notes a band communiqué.

“It’s also about the unity that’s felt between two people during sex,” they add.

Get involved, as it were…
