The best of the live music gigs around Ireland this week.

Who: Wallis Bird

Date: 20 January
Where: Roisin Dubh, Galway

The ridiculously talented Wallis Bird heads out west for what promises to be a scintillating gig in Galway. The Roisin Dubh is a great live venue and someone like Wallis Bird is going to take the roof off the place.

Who: Black Sabbath
Date: 20 January

Ozzy Osbourne and his band of merry men return to Dublin for a big live show at the 3Arena. Metal veterans they may be, but they will rock the venue to its foundations and it will be loud. Very loud.

Who: Otherkin
Date: 21 January

Dublin indie band Otherkin are forging a great reputation following a brilliant performance at Longitude and their star is on a continuous ascent.

Who: Jameson Bow Street Sessions
Date: 26 January
Where: Sugar Club, Dublin

Okay, we get that this is outside of the time frame of this weeks gig listing, but there’s a reason for it. We want to give one JOE reader a chance of winning tickets for them and four of their friends as well as an overnight stay.

Following from 2016’s series of gigs, Jameson Bow St Sessions are back on January 26th 2017! Presented by Jameson and supported by Hot Press, Bow St Sessions are a series of unique live shows that celebrate unexpected and original collaborations in Irish music. Bow St Sessions returns to Dublin, to the intimate surroundings of The Sugar Club. The line-up will see three bands who have made a serious mark on the Irish music scene over the last year – Booka Brass, Barq and Soulé.

Your evening will start at the Generator Hostel for pizza and a whiskey tasting, before you set off for the Sugar Club to spend the night taking in some of the country’s finest bands. To top it off, we’ve got accommodation at the Generator when the night is over.

The competition is only open to those aged 18 and over, visit drinkaware.ie.
