The best of the live music gigs around Ireland this week.

Who: Muse
Date: April 5th
Where: 3Arena, Dublin

They may be playing against League of Ireland side Cabinteely in a friendly, but the main purpose of their visit to these shores is for a big show at the 3Arena in Dublin.

Muse gigs are loud and fun and this should be no different as the lads will play songs from their latest album Drones as well as the rest of their back catalogue.

German electronic ensemble Moderat bring their minimal techno sound to Dublin for a gig in the glorious Vicar Street.

Date: April 8th
Where: The Big Top, Limerick

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot are the voices behind The Beautiful South. They’ve gone out on their own now, but expect them to reprise a lot of their big hits in Limerick for what promises to be a gem of a gig.

Who: An acoustic evening with Hamsandwich
Date: April 8th
Where: Roisin Dubh, Galway

Hamsandwich are a breath of fresh air and are garnering a lot of kudos and acclaim recently. After years of toiling under the radar, they are now a big deal and they play an acoustic set in Galway this Friday evening.

Where: Whelan’s, Dublin

American rockabilly enthusisast JD McPherson arrives in Ireland for a show in Whelans. Citing Buddy Holly as one of his biggest influences, this will be a great gig.
