18th May 2015

JOE’S 5 go-to gigs in Ireland this week (May 18 to May 25)

Dublin, Cork, Offaly and Sligo this week

Joe Harrington

The best live music happening all over the country this week.

Who: Villagers
Date: Wednesday, May 20th.
Where: Olympia, Dublin (tickets here).

Conor O’Brien’s new show is more stripped-back and low-key than his most recent tours.

We’re imagining how good his soaring voice will sound in a hushed Olympia, there will be goosebumps.

Who: Fight Like Apes
Date: Friday, May 22th.
Where: Charleville Castle, Offaly (tickets here).

Fight Like Apes released their new album last week and they’re celebrating by holding a three night residency at Charleville Castle in Offaly (where Body and Soul is on). It should be great craic.

Who: Mark Geary
Date: Thursday, May 21th.
Where: Cyprus Avenue, Cork (tickets here).

One of the best singer-songwriters in the country, always a pleasure seeing this guy do his thing.

Who: Roesy
Date: Friday, May 22th.
Where: 5th on Teeling, Sligo (tickets here).

Roesy is home from Australia to promote his new album Wolf Counsel, well worth checking out if you’re in the west.

Who: Young Wonder
Date: Friday, May 22th.
Where: Whelan’s, Dublin (tickets here).

The Irish electro-pop duo released their debut album Birth this week, we’ve seen them a few times and they put on a hell of a show, don’t miss them on Friday.
