The best of the live music gigs around Ireland this week.

Bulmers Forbidden Fruit

Who: Underworld
Date: June 3 – June 5
Where: Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin

The festival season kicks off with Forbidden Fruit and with the great weather we’ve been having it’s the perfect way to spend the weekend. With some huge dance, electronic and hip hop acts such as Tame Impala, Jungle, Groove Armada DJ’s, Katy B and Dizzee Rascal.

Electronic band Underworld, who’s brilliant songs have been featured on countless soundtracks, will be performing on Sunday so be sure to get yourself a weekend ticket.

We’ll be heading along for the weekend so be sure to come over and say hello.

Who: HamsandwicH and Raglans
Date: June 3
Where: Old Chapel Rooms, Kilfinane, Limerick

This indie rock band hail from Kells in Meath and have gone from strength to strength since way back in 2003.

Niamh Farrell and Podge McNamee will be bringing their gentle, complimentary vocals to Limerick on Friday.

Dublin band Raglans will also be joining them on the night.

Who: The Eskies

Date: June 3                                                                    

WhereThe Button Factory, Dublin

The Eskies are a self-proclaimed folk-noir/gypsy-jazz/sea-shanty band, who’s music meanders from sea-soaked waltz to Italian tarantella, if that means anything to you.

The band, who featured in our Sunday Sessions last year, will be in The Button Factory on Friday.

Who: I Have A Tribe
Date: June 3
Where: Whelans, Dublin

Patrick O’Laoghaire, who goes by the name I Have A Tribe has a powerful yet peaceful voice that draws his audience in.

He’ll be bringing his intimate set to Whelans this Friday.

Who: Lisa Hannigan
Date: June 5
Where: Black Box, Belfast

Then singer songwriter, who began her career in Damien Rice’s band, made a name for herself after she and Rice split up, with songs like ‘Knots’ and ‘Home’.

This Friday the sweet songstress will perform songs from her forthcoming album to be released later this year.
