JOE’s Song Of The Day #561: Fallen Lights – ‘It’s Too Late’

Eric Lalor

State Lights

Fallen Lights are the latest band off the Mullingar conveyor belt.

Fallen Lights are a four-piece Indie/Pop outfit based in Mullingar. Together since college, the band are made up of multi-instrumentalist music graduates Graham Dowling, Andrew Cody, Jay Wiley and Joey Murray.

Following in the footsteps of other Mullingar artists such as The Blizzards, The Academic and Niall Horan (pic below), Fallen Lights are about to release their debut EP and this is the first single from it.

Fallen Lights

Although fresh to the Irish music scene the band have found early success supporting some well-established heavy hitters such as Scouting for Girls, Ham Sandwich, Keywest, The Academic and most recently The Blizzards on their comeback show in the Olympia Theatre.

Their debut single ‘Pricetag’ was recorded with Irish producer Phillip Magee. The single was released in May 2017 and was well received by daytime radio and media with regular plays on 2FM, iRadio, Beat 102-103, WLR, Spin & included a playlist on Radio 1.

This latest track is the first song from their debut EP which was recorded, again with Phil Magee, in Station Studios. It’s a bright, breezy toe-tapping tune which will appeal to a lot of people.
