JOE’s Song Of The Day #570: Super Silly – ‘Here’

Eric Lalor

Super Silly

Super Silly are sounding super slick.

Super Silly are Solbas, Glory, Whodis and Grvz all hailing from Dublin. Four musicians who first met playing gospel in their local church.

Super Silly have fast become one of the key names in the ever growing and international acclaimed Irish urban scene. Bringing a rare sense of passion and fun to modern RnB, 2017 saw them drop three releases – ‘Not Ready To Leave’, ‘Mile High Club’ and a collaboration with producer Odd Mob on ‘No Pressure’.

It was the track ‘No Pressure’ which caught the attention of one Pete Tong and also went on to achieve chart success in Australia. Clearly, they are a band on the up.

Along the way they delivered memorable live sets at Forbidden Fruit, Electric Picnic and Indiependence, before closing the year with two packed shows at Other Voices.

2018 promises to be an even bigger year for the quartet. This is their first release this year and it’s produced by Tunde Esho and recorded with Solar Bears’ Rian Trench. ‘Here’ once more marries the band’s classic influences with a sound that is very much of the moment – marking them as artists ready for the international stage.

Super Silly will be playing Irish dates in the run-up to a headline show at the Button Factory in Dublin on 19 May, including the It Takes A Village Festival in East Cork in April.
