JOE’s Song Of The Day #577: The Swedish Railway Orchestra – ‘You Can’t Have It Your Way’

Eric Lalor

Swedish Railway Orchestra

The Swedish Railway Orchestra back with another infectious groove.

Rob Smith is a former indie-rock singer/songwriter who has released two studio albums. He has completely reinvented himself and has come back under the moniker, The Swedish Railway Orchestra.

Inspired by the likes of Jape and LCD Soundsystem, he has already gone and released an album. Released in September last year, his debut album, ‘This Is A Dream’ was a critically acclaimed piece of work. It featured the wonderful ‘Why Don’t You Talk To Me?’

This track is taken from his brand new EP, also titled ‘You Can’t Have It Your Way’. The video for the title track dropped this week.  The imagery of Dublin in psychedelic-tinted glasses are prominent, while musically one can hear similarities from anything from modern powerhouse LCD Soundsystem to 80’s heroes Bronski Beat.
