JyellowL is growing all the time.
Young Dublin rapper JyellowL is fast becoming a really big presence on the ever-growing hip-hop scene here in Ireland. While JyellowL mainly focuses on conscious hip-hop and rhythmic poetry, he is a truly diverse artist with influences of soul, RnB and his dual Nigerian/Jamaican heritage in his music.
We’ve featured his music before so are very aware of the talent he possesses. This new track sees a new maturity, a real progression and new found confidence in the performer and it’ll be interesting to see how this journey progresses.
Speaking about his new release, he said “Sometimes I feel like Medusa. In this song, I’m saying some things that people don’t expect me to say or have an attitude people don’t expect me to have. When I say these kinds of things or exude this type of confidence people are usually taken aback and turned to stone in a sense. This is the vibe I’m on for the whole summer so it’ll need some getting used to”.
