David Kitt releases his brand new EP.

Hot on the heels of his latest album release earlier this year, David Kitt is back with a brand new EP, titled, Like Lightning. This, the title track, is one of six new songs from the Dublin artist.

David Kitt

The last number of years have seen Kitt touring and recording as a member of Tindersticks, producing other musicians’ work, exploring techno, disco, and house under his New Jackson moniker, remixing everyone from Shit Robot to The XX, and producing intriguing, eclectic DJ sets and radio shows.

All of these experiences have been brought to bear on his latest album ‘Yous’ (March 2018), which mingles a sense of freedom, and calm reflection, with an independent impulse.

Some would argue that he is a national treasure and who are we to disagree? We’ve been fans of his music for quite some time now.

Speaking about the new EP, Kitt said: “’Like Lightning’ was written after a late night/early morning adventure with friends in Galway city a good few years ago now. I always find it hard to choose singles, but this seemed to be lot of people’s favourite album track.

“I’ve availed of every last second of space on the 10-inch to turn this release into a mini-album of sorts, with three quite different instrumentals: one part folk, one part modular electronic and one recorded using two Buddah boxes in the Glasgow underground. There are also two unreleased songs I think fit nicely on this release.”
