JOE’s Song Of The Day #653: Nnic ‘Pillars’

Eric Lalor

Nnic

Silky, lush vocals from Nnic.

Nnic is the moniker of Dublin based multi-instrumentalist and powerhouse vocalist, Naoise Fitzgerald. This is her second single release and immediately you are struck by the vocal. This lady can really sing.

Nnic

With over 10 years of classical vocal training under her belt, her sound and writing passion brings a mixture of ballad-like melodies, with fresh electronic sampling.

Having previously supported heralded Irish acts such as Hozier and Wyvern Lingo, Nnic’s newly revised sound is sure to pave its own way forward.

Citing artists such as Blood Orange, Annie Lennox and Solange are her biggest musical influences, she unashamedly wears her influences on her sleeve.

On the new track, she said: “‘Pillars’ was written from a place of admiration and is a homage to faceless women who selflessly uplift and support others”.
