JOE’s Song Of The Day #656: Lydia Ford ‘Bittersweet’

Eric Lalor

Lydia Ford

Lydia Ford hits the groove.

Lydia Ford is a singer-songwriter from Mayo. We’ve featured this talented artist before and she keeps coming back with bangers.

Lydia Ford

After a period in New York City, Ford’s music now takes inspiration from her subway rides rather than the green coast of west Ireland. While the pop elements remain, life experiences and her formative twenties has added a more tongue-in-cheek approach to her lyrics.

Now Ford is releasing ‘Bittersweet’ which tells the story of a night that ends before it’s reached its full potential. The chorus illustrates the lingering sting of rejection – the juxtaposition of that bittersweet feeling between savoring the good times the song’s lovers had together and the pain of it ending so quickly.
