Sun Mahshene release the first single from their new album.
Listening to this track from Sun Mahshene has left me nostalgic for my younger years when all I wanted to do was listen to guitar-driven indie music. There have been comparisons to indie legends Ride and The Jesus & Mary Chain and I get that.
Sun Mahshene are a collective of Dublin musicians led by Nathan Henderson and they’re releasing their debut album entitled Contradictions & Tales Of Fiction in the new year. This is the first track from the album and the video is directed by Gerard Walsh.
The opening riffs of the track could easily be fitted to any sporting montage such is its vitality and freshness. It’s a cracking tune and makes me want to check out the new album which I plan on doing.
There are echoes of The Wedding Present and Dinosaur Jr here too and that’s never a bad thing.
