JOE’s Song Of The Day #692: Sectile ‘The Hunt’

Eric Lalor

Sectile

Sectile cranking it up.

Sectile are a five-piece prog metal band from Dublin who were formed in November 2016. Drawing inspiration from a medley of different musical backgrounds, the band’s sound can be described as heavy metal with progressive, post-rock and hard rock elements.

This is a track to be played loud and some of the riffs you hear are reminiscent of Royal Blood. Lyrically, ‘The Hunt’ talks about isolation, despair and the feeling of being hunted by your past mistakes.

The sensation is further enhanced by the single’s original artwork, created by the lead singer, Gabriel Gaba.  Then there is the nightmarish video, Sectile’s first, entirely produced by the band themselves.

Sectile are currently working on their second EP which they hope to release in early 2019. They have already garnered a reputation for being a great live act and there will be more news of gigs in the new year.

Until then, you can keep posted on the band and their movements via their Facebook page right here.
