JOE’s Song Of The Day #704 Delorentos ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’

Eric Lalor

Delorentos

Delorentos with a Christmas classic.

If you haven’t heard of Delorentos, the chances are you haven’t heard of Christmas either and this article is breaking new ground for you.

One of Ireland’s most loved bands, they’ve had a cracking year with the release of their fifth studio album, True Surrender.

They’ve also appeared this year at Indiependence, Electric Picnic, Sea Sessions, Live At The Marquee climaxing in a headline show at the Olympia Theatre in mid-November. They’re back now with a Christmas classic with all proceeds going to homeless charity, Focus Ireland.

Delorentos

It’s part of a three track EP entitled Be Here Christmas Time. Every single cent raised goes straight to Focus Ireland to help the homeless this Christmas and is available to download from all the usual places.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) was a Phil Spector creation back in 1963 and sung by Darlene Love. It’s been covered over the years by such luminaries as U2, Mariah Carey, Foo Fighters and Little Mix amongst others.

This is a superb version from the lads and it really is deserving of your attention and small bit of money considering what a worthy cause it is for.

Delorentos are a national treasure and you can get to know them even more via their shiny website right here.
