JOE’s Song Of The Day #733 – Somebody’s Child ‘Toes’

Eric Lalor

Somebody

Somebody’s Child returns with a cracker.

Somebody’s Child is a young classically trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter hailing from Dublin. This is the follow-up to his debut single which we had featured before.

The Somebody’s Child debut had people sit up and take notice and he’s followed this up with the unveiling of his new release ‘Toes’. Produced by Ross Dowling (James Vincent McMorrow, Talos, Bell X1), the track experiments with, and explores the different styles and elements of indie pop music.

Somebody

Both lyrically and melodically driven, ‘Toes’ is a beautifully-arranged track. It highlights Somebody’s Child’s talent for crafting songs that feel both intimate and vast, set against a blissful atmospheric soundscape.

Having honed his sound into captivating alternative that fuses righteous lyrics with dazzling melodies, his latest material is raw and honest. Deeply poignant, ‘Toes’ capitalises on his ability to engage smart songwriting with unexpected genres, taking cues from the likes of James Bay and Tom Walker.
