JOE’s Song Of The Day #781 – Laura Elizabeth Hughes ‘In My Defence’

Eric Lalor

Laura Elizabeth Hughes

A brand new track from Laura Elizabeth Hughes.

Laura Elizabeth Hughes has announced the release of her brand new single ‘In My Defence’.

The song marks an uplifting new direction, but still holds the distinctive sound and heart that the songwriter has become known for.

Last summer, after a four-year hiatus, Laura Elizabeth Hughes re-introduced herself to the world with her EP, Ceremony.

The record captured a journey from darkness to light and showcased the vocal and writing talent of an artist fast establishing herself as a rising talent among a fresh new group of emerging Irish songwriters.

Laura Elizabeth Hughes

She had quite the year after the release of the EP, with live appearances at Electric Picnic, Indiependence and the inaugural We’ve Only Just Begun festival.

She also shared a stage with Oscar-nominated film director Lenny Abrahamson (Room, Frank, Adam & Paul) and Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars, Brooklyn, About Time) as part of the Culture Vultures event series and gained a new fan in Grammy nominated R&B star, Joss Stone.
