Knowhow showing a lot of it with their debut single.
Cc Brez, best known for his work as a producer, arranger and guitarist with Irish supergroup Republic of Loose, has teamed up with singer/songwriter Jesse John Heffernan, previously with hip-hop collective The Animators to form Knowhow.
There is no mistaking the Republic of Loose influence with their debut track, 'Real Love'. This is a track dripping in funk and good summer vibes, a track to be played as you're cruising down the motorway with the window open and not a care in the world.
Inspired by contemporary acts like Vulfpeck, Hiatus Kaiyote, Snarky Puppy and Thundercat, and brought up on Quincy Jones’ Michael Jackson records and the Stevie Wonder soul sound, the single sits somewhere in between the genres of soul, funk and pop and salutes both recording process and song writing.
