If the name Tolü Makay seems familiar, you may have been watching RTÉ on New Year's Eve. It was there she captured the hearts of the nation with her cover of The Saw Doctor’s 'N17' with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The Tullamore lady is back, this time with her own work and her ascent shows no sign of abating any time soon. Taken from her EP 'Being', released last October, this is a song that has a chorus that will live in your head for days and days. Tolü has produced a song that praises the brilliance that one possesses within themselves. Positive affirmations are a rare commodity in a time when we need them more than ever. Tolü Makay is one of the most exciting and fresh new voices in a burgeoning Irish music scene and is definitely one to keep an eye on in the future.
