JOE’s Song Of The Day #886 – Manamon ‘In A Frame’

Eric Lalor

The brother of Dublin GAA star (and fine musician in his own right) Kevin McManamon, music certainly runs in Manamon’s family.

If vast electronic soundscapes coupled with indie rock riffs are your thing, this track will be right up your street. Add to that a catchy melody and a good voice and you’ve got yourself a decent song.

Manamon is a singer/songwriter from Dublin who produces all his own music. After spending hours in his house experimenting with different instruments and samples, he has delivered his debut single, ‘In a Frame’.

As debut singles go, this is a very accomplished and polished offering. It’s got a very fresh indie-pop feel to it. There are Mansun and Shed Seven vibes off this track and that can never be a bad thing.

Manamon tells JOE: “It’s a song about confiding in someone. It’s about acknowledging that dark or heavy thoughts seem so much lighter when we have a medium to channel them through like a friend, or a piece of art. This song is just a celebration of unleashing something that’s been stuck inside your psyche for so long.”
