Teen sensation J.F.O is back with a bang.
J.F.O (Jason O’Toole) is an 18-year-old rapper, singer & songwriter from Dublin.
His sophomore mixtape, ‘love the way u hurt me’ is set for release very soon. It will be the first of a series of “mood tapes” crafted to portray key moments in Jason’s life, detailing the life of a young and aspiring hip-hop artist in Ireland.
On this track, as with his previous work, J.F.O has teamed up with producer Dantè.
‘Amnesia’ is a song that borrows equally from contemporary emo trap and from ’90s heavy rock and punk.
There is a feeling of constant pressure in the track. “When I die, I’ll try to rest/Until then I’ll do my best/Cause I know that I’m up next”.
His lyrics evoke the expectations placed on young people to succeed, and the poor personal health and mental well-being seemingly required for success. “I don’t wanna die but I think that I have to”.
It’s a very well produced track and showcases the talents of a bright young talent to be watched in the coming years.
