The second year of the three-day festival at Marlay Park is almost upon us…

Festival season is very much in full swing with weekends at Forbidden Fruit and Body and Soul under our belts and there’s still loads to look forward to with Castlepalooza, Indiependence and Electric Picnic all to come but next weekend is the turn of Longitude.

The three-day festival, which only started last year, has a brilliant line-up with the likes of Haim, Disclosure, Ben Howard, Massive Attack and Bombay Bicycle Club among the headliners.

There’s some fantastic acts a little further down the bill that we don’t want you to miss so here’s JOE’s five artist you can’t miss at Longitude next weekend.

First Aid Kit

The Swedish folk duo have just released their third album ‘Stay Gold’ and it’s an absolute belter. The harmonies along with their country vibe should go down well in the sunshine (fingers crossed) next Sunday. This is the lead from the new album, big fans over here…

Banks

Banks is an alternative, trip-hop singer who is the the darling to hype-people in the music industry at the moment. She was on BBC and MTV’s Sound of 2014 lists, her debut album comes out in September so it’s a matter of time before she explodes, don’t miss her on Sunday…

NONONO

We are very excited to the Swedish electro-pop group NONONO, their song ‘Pumpin Blood’ catapulted them to success last year and we have a feeling they’ll be pretty special on Saturday…

Parquet Courts

Parquet Courts are an indie-rock band from New York who are on their third album in four years and their latest offering ‘Sunbathing Animal’ has received critical acclaim worldwide. If you’re looking for a great guitar, bass and drum band over the weekend, make sure you check these lads out on Friday…

O Emperor

O Emperor are one of the best live bands in the country and one of a number of Irish acts on the line-up this year. JOE has seen them numerous times and their shows keep getting better and better. You’ll regret it if you don’t see them on Saturday…
