Kanye West dropped a surprise song and… we don’t… we can’t… we’re not sure where to begin

What…? Seriously, like…. WHAT??

Kanye has had quite the week.

Having lost around 10,000,000 Twitter followers (give or take) in the wake of declaring a kiiiiind of support for Donald Trump, which some of his closest friends and fans have tried to talk him out of, maybe the best thing someone of his talent – and whether or not you dislike him as a person, his talent is undeniable – would be to head to the recording studio and use his skills to properly verbalise his position.

Which is pretty much what he did late on Friday night, when he dropped a surprise track titled ‘Lose Yourself’, which you can check out on his website right here.

Working from a sample from R&B group Amnesty’s 1973 song ‘Liberty’, you can hear Kanye gearing up for something big, as he warps and loops the beat into something dance-floor ready, before eventually clearing his throat with

“They don’t really realise though, this next verse – this next verse though, these bars? Watch this!”

Okay, here it comes, he must be about to completely blow us all away with whatever comes next…

“Whoopidi scoop / scoopdidi whoop / whoopdi scoopdi poop / poopdi scoopdi scoopdi whoop / whoopidi scoop whoop poop / poop didi whoop scoop / POOP POOP / scoopdidi whoop / whoop didi scoop / whoopdidi scoop poop”

And then the song suddenly ends, after barely one minute.

So… he’s gone full troll now, is that it?

Well, not exactly…

Just a few hours later, he debuted ANOTHER song on US Radio (which you can hear a low quality radio rip of right here) titled ‘Ye VS The Power’, and it is much more of what we’d been expected.

He trades bars with T.I. over everything from Trump, Obama, police brutality and even ‘the sunken place’ from Get Out.

The full version of the track – and also maybe a full version of the poop discoop song too? Who knows… – is set to appear on an upcoming seven-track solo record, which Kanye stated is set for release on Friday 1 June, and will be his first release since 2016’s The Life Of Pablo.
