JOE’s Song Of The Day #866 – Kodaline ‘Wherever You Are’

Dave Hanratty

Kodaline JOE Song Of The Day

Another emotional adventure for the boys Kodaline.

Kodaline have been provoking tears with stadium-sized anthems for some time now and their latest missive is no exception.

‘Wherever You Are’, the band’s first new material since 2018’s Politics of Living album, is a typically poignant affair underscored by an accompany video that focuses on an especially bittersweet life experience.

Directed by Riley Blakeway, the promo tracks a young couple in a blossoming relationship that is stuck by tragedy. Picking up the pieces, one half of the couple chooses to carry on its legacy.

“After hearing the song for the first time, I was reminded of a close friend that lost someone very special to her and shortly after, went on a trip in search of catharsis,” says Blakeway.

“I then asked that friend to star in the film and the result was one of the most meaningful collaborations I’ve had.”

Kodaline’s fourth album is expected to arrive this year.
