She promises she’ll be back soon.

Antipodean pop icon Kylie Minogue has cancelled her planned Irish concerts with immediate effect.

Minogue had been set to grace the stage of Dublin’s 3Arena tonight – Sunday 7 October – and The SSE Arena in Belfast tomorrow – Monday 8 October – but disaster has struck at the 11th hour.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday afternoon, the singer apologised to fans, noting that a throat infection did the damage.

“Lovers,” she began. “I’m so sorry to let you know that I can’t do tonight’s Dublin or tomorrow’s Belfast shows.

“I’ve been trying everything possible to be well enough to perform for you but a throat infection has led to a vocal strain,” she continued.

A follow-up tweet confirmed Minogue’s intentions to return to Irish shores in the near future.

“I promise I’ll be back as soon as possible and at 100% – the Guinness will be on me!

“We’re working on rescheduling and more details will follow. I’m so, so sorry to let you down and thank you for your understanding,” she concluded.

Aiken Promotions advises ticket holders to hold onto said tickets as they work to confirm rescheduled dates.

Bad news for anyone who was looking to bop away to ‘The Loco-Motion’ on a cold autumn night, then.

These things happen folks, she’ll be back.
