LISTEN: The new Kings of Leon song that’s going to be all over the radio really soon

Conor Heneghan

Kings of Leon RDS

If you’re already a big Kings of Leon fan, you’ll enjoy this.

The Tennessee four-piece have released the first single from their highly anticipated new album out next month and it’s not a huge departure from their output in the recent past.

That’s not intended as a slight on a band who enjoy massive popularity worldwide, but judging by the first single at least, anyone expecting a Radiohead, Kid A-style radical shift in style is likely to be disappointed.

On first listen, the new single ‘Waste A Moment’ already sounds like it’s going to be another hit for the Followills, with echoes of material from earlier albums such as Youth and Young Manhood mixed with the sound that made the band more commercially popular after Only by the Night in 2008.

It’s certainly a very easy listen and at just over three minutes it’s very radio-friendly too so expect to hear a lot of it on the airwaves between now and Christmas.

Walls, Kings of Leon’s seventh studio album, is currently available to pre-order on the band’s website before it officially goes on release on October 14.

Fans who pre-order the album from the band’s official webstore will receive a unique pre-sale code at checkout that will grant them early access to purchase tickets to Kings of Leon’s upcoming 2017 US headlining tour.

The full details of the tour will be announced soon.
