There are doubts over whether one of Longitude’s main acts will perform at the festival

Not good…

Longitude is now less than three weeks away, so we think we’re allowed to start getting excited.

When the card was announced, to say it split opinion is an understatement. Fans of rap, grime, R&B and hip-hop were absolutely chuffed that there was such a festival that catered so specifically to that genre taking place in Ireland.

Others were not so pleased, but were more pleased with the Electric Picnic lineup.

Either way, if you’re a music fan in Ireland this summer, there’s surely a good festival for you.

But Longitude goers may be somewhat worried that one of the main attractions might be a doubt for the festival.

English rapper J Hus was arrested last week for possession of a knife.

He was stopped in a vehicle by a marked police car, and has since appeared in court.

J Hus, whose real name is Momodou Jallow, is due to perform at Wireless festival the week before Longitude, but it is unclear as to whether he will legally be able to travel.

The London based rapper rose to fame in 2017 with his song ‘Did You See’, and has continued to do so ever since.

J Hus is due to perform on the Sunday of Longitude, alongside R&B singer SZA, who is also a potential doubt for the festival as she has cancelled a number of recent gigs due to a throat infection.

JOE have reached out to Longitude, but they are yet to respond to the news, and are still advertising both performers on the card.

Rapper Cardi B has already been removed from the card, as she will be 8 months pregnant.
