Looking for something to do on Good Friday? You should go to this brilliant BYOB festival

Alan Loughnane

This sounds like a great day out…

As this Friday is Good Friday, your options for activities have been somewhat curtailed by the fact you won’t be able to head down to the local for a few jars of the black stuff… or whatever else you drink.

But we might just have the answer for you if you’re looking for something to do.

BD Festival is taking place in the breathtaking surrounds of Glendalough House, Annamoe, Co. Wicklow this Friday, April 14 and it promises to be a quality day of music.

It looks like being the best version of the festival yet with a fusion of music, art, community, cuisine and BYOB, on a day where everyone else’s doors are closed.

Attendees of the festival are invited to bring their own beverages along with them as long as you don’t bring any glass onto the farm.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival and organisers have promised a brilliant spectacle as they unroll their biggest audio-visual and artistic production to date.

The Live Stage will play host to a mixture of cover bands from festival favourites Smash Hits and new act RobotRock who mash up Dance music’s finest and greatest anthems, to Buffalo Soul who will play Bob Marley rhythms at sunset.

The festival takes place on the beautiful grounds of Glendalough and anyone who knows the area will appreciate what a stunning location that is, so where better to spend your Friday?

There are very limited tickets left via www.bdfestival.ie at €65 excl booking fee.

A bus service will also run from Georges Quay and Carrickmines Luas stop from 3 pm and every 30 minutes thereafter with tickets priced from €18 return on www.bdfestival.ie, return bus tickets must be purchased in advance or on entry. Limited parking will be available along with a taxi drop off point.
