Huge news for fans of The National.

The National have announced details of their long-awaited seventh studio album AND a worldwide tour, which takes in three dates in Ireland in September.

They’ve also released the video for a new single, ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’, which you can see below.

Sleep Well Beast, the follow-up to the brilliant Trouble Will Find Me, will be released on 8 September and this will be closely followed by a date at the Cork Opera House on 16 September, and two shows in Dublin’s Vicar Street on 17 and 18 September before the New York quintet move on to a number of dates in the UK.

Tickets are €57 and on sale from usual outlets next Friday 19 May. Tickets are limited to 2 per person, and photo ID will be required for ticket holders on the night.

‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’ is the first track to be released from Sleep Well Beast.
