Electric Picnic organisers announce plans for a new festival in Ireland

New Irish festival

If it ends up being half as successful as Electric Picnic then it’s going to be a hit.

Every year, close to 60,000 people make their way to Stradbally for the highlight of the Irish festival season, Electric Picnic.

There aren’t many events that come close to it in this country, and it very rarely fails to deliver the goods.

Which is why we are really excited by the news that the people behind EP are planning to create a brand new Irish festival.

Ahead of the announcement of the full Electric Picnic lineup for 2019, Festival Director Melvin Benn of Festival Republic will also be announcing a new Irish festival to go with it.

According to the Leinster Express, Benn said: “With Electric Picnic now fully sold out, we will also announce initial details of a brand new festival taking place this summer. The stunning location of this new festival – brought to you by the Electric Picnic family – has never before been used and will provide the perfect backdrop to a new event on the summer festival calendar.”

The full lineup for Electric Picnic 2019 will be announced on Wednesday (13 March); keep an eye on JOE for details.
