A draft of Bob Dylan’s classic 1965 song “Like a Rolling Stone” has been sold for $2.045 million, to an unidentified bidder. Auction house Sotherby’s said that this draft was “the only known surviving draft of the final lyrics for this transformative rock anthem.”  Two pages of Dylan’s handwritten lyrics for “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall” also sold at the same auction for $485,000.

In 2010, John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for “A Day in the Life” the final track on the Beatles’ classic 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, sold for $1.2 million, the previous record for such a sale.

Like A Rolling Stone” featured on Dylan’s seminal album Highway 61 Revisited and it remains his most commercially successful song to date. JOE could listen to the interactive version of the song for hours on end.
