A song Gallagher feared had been “lost forever”, it will be on the internet from midnight.

Noel Gallagher is to deliver a special lockdown treat for Oasis fans around the world by posting a previously unreleased Oasis song on the internet tonight.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Gallagher revealed that he had come across the demo of the song while going through “HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home” in the process of trying to while away a few idle hours.

The song is called ‘Don’t Stop’ and according to Gallagher, only one version of it exists, recorded at a soundcheck before a gig in Hong Kong 15 years ago.

“I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it ‘out there’ for you to enjoy/argue over,” Gallagher said, revealing that it will be available online from midnight on Wednesday (29 April).

As well as the testimony from fans Gallagher references in his Twitter post, Oasis have something of a history when it comes to previously unheralded songs going on to earn greater acclaim.

‘Talk Tonight’ and ‘The Masterplan’, for example, were both originally released as B-Sides.

“Hope everyone is trying to stay safe and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss,” Gallagher signed off his message, before adding: “You’re welcome by the way.”
